Forget the request, pokes, shares and pings, what really
happened to the face to face communication? It’s like a complete different
world online. People posed with a difficult circumstance or people facing a tough
phase in life (I’m talking about the ones who are majorly addicted to these
social networking sites) think that guidance is just click of a button away.
They become so ill- equipped/ occupied with socializing online that it has
become more important than having to socialize face to face.
According to various reports it is said isolation, disconnection and disengagement from the society today is bigger than HIV.
Everyone wants to be perfect… ONLINE. There are fifteen ladies running behind one man and that one man is running behind fifteen other ladies with fifteen different accounts (I bet you can relate to that one). Everyone needs the glam and fame (POPULAR-ISM in my words). Jealousy is increasing due to these sites. OMG, SHE HAS PRETTIER PROFILE PICTURE THAN ME, SHE TOOK IT FROM A SLR, IT’S TIME FOR A PHOTO SHOOT, I NEED A MUCH BETTER PROFILE PICTURE, HOW CAN SHE BE SO PRETTY AND I CANT? There are so many thoughts in your head that you actually start questioning the way you look knowingly or unknowingly. Teenage girls and boys are becoming meaner by the second. There’s no control of hormones which is clearly evident from the way they talk online. If you ask me, social networking sites are making teenagers desperate. How you may ask? I’m sure someone in your friend’s circle would have received a message from some stranger who has zero mutual friends with you telling you how pretty/ handsome you are and to be his or her friend. (I mean seriously, Can I punch you Mr./Miss. Desperate?)

In short, I would like to conclude the virtual world creates
a bubble of unreal perfection which is harmful in many ways.
Thanks for reading, do let me know how you like it. :D
