Experimenting The Brown Side!

Hello lovelies!

Brown....such an odd colour for jeans! So when I saw this weird pair of jeans in Mango, my first instinct was that looks horrible, who in the right mind would wear brown jeans! At that point of time, Pinterest was literally crowded with images of girls dawning their brown pants, and they actually looked really great! So why not give this dreaded fashion piece a try?

I decided to match these brown jeans with a patterned top, which in my opinion gives the whole look a more catchy appeal than what a plain top would provide. If you're the kind of person who really likes simple over patterned, then a white plain top with lace or without, would also look really great! I did not go heavy on jewellery, like always, and just decided to stick with statement earrings.

To complete the look, I decided on a bigger bag, than a sling bag, because I feel like it adds more appeal to the outfit. You can go ahead and experiment all you want!

Makeup Dupes: Cheap VS Pricey!

Hello my wonderful readers!

I know I know, it's been way too long since I put up a post, but as I get closer to ending a semester the pressure rises. So today I decided to talk about makeup dupes. There are so many products in the market, which get featured under really big brands and are so pricey, that you just walk away from the store.....so not worth it! However ladies! Don't worry, the same product, giving you the same type of result is definitely going to be available somewhere else, you just need to know where!

Let our 'save money' side really come out!

Cheap Solution Number 1: Revlon Colorburst VS Pricey Option: Clinique Chubby Stick

They give the same exact result, no kidding! It's even the same type of packaging, which is so awkward.....Although the Revlon one smells a lot like mint and bubblegum, which I personally don't like, again the emphasis is on same exact result!

Cheap Solution Number 2: Maybelline Gel Liner VS Pricey Option: Bobbi Brown Gel Liner

I have mentioned this in my previous blogs too because the Maybelline gel liner is that good! This makeup dupe is absolutely brilliant. Long lasting, creamy and comes with a free brush! And not to forget cheaper than the Bobbi Brown gel liner, which I must say is amazing too!

Cheap Solution Number 3: Revlon Really Red Lipstick VS Pricey Option: MAC Russian Red Lipstick

Although the Revlon Really Red lipstick doesn't last very long, it is really the best substitute for the MAC Russian Red lipstick. It does stain though because it's that strong of a color!

Cheap Solution Number 4: Rimmel Scandal Eyes WaterProof Kohl Kajal VS Pricey Option: Urban Decay 24/7 Glide- On Eye Pencil

SAME EXACT RESULT! Almost, has the same exact colors too, enough said!

Cheap Solution Number 5: Garner Skin Renew Roller VS Pricey Option: Clinique All About Eyes Serum

Literally the same liquid put in two different types of bottles. I have no idea why is one priced higher than the other.....

Until next time!

Venturing in Turquoise!

Hi you guys!

This time I decided to show you how to pair a long skirt like the one I'm wearing in this post, in such a way that it looks classy as well as is comfortable at the same time. Turquoise is such a beautiful colour that even if you wear a dull top with it, you shine through, it really gives that effect. If you want to go with casual I suggest you wear a grey tank top. If you want to wear something that is appropriate for a party, pair the skirt with a nice crop top, most preferably a white one.

You can also pair this simple outfit with a heavy choker, just to give it that edge. The make up that I applied for this one too is simple. I always go for a simple look rather than a heavy one.

For the finish, I paired the outfit with simple silver sandals. Don't forget to follow me on my Instagram handle: arohib

Restaurant Review: Kulfilicious

Hi guys!

This time round I decided to talk about one of my all time favourite places to eat at! I know I've never done a restaurant review before and I thought why not give this a try! Kulfilicious is honestly one of those gems you don't know about in the beginning but when you discover it, you won't stop going back again and again! For someone, who loves kulfi and ice-creams a lot, this is your place to be! For those of you who don't know what Kulfi is, it is an indianized version of ice- cream with nuts and pistachios and take my word for it, it tastes amazing!

So, Kulfilicious is located in Al Nahda. It's a beautiful place! With urbanised indian setting, the place gives a really good feel. It's the most crowded at 2am in the mornings but yet their customer service is great and on time!

In terms of my favorite item at Kulfilicious, I must say their Falooda is amazing! It comes in three sizes which are small, medium and large but trust me the small is enough to fill your stomach! It also has three different kinds of Kulfi in it, I recommend the three most popular nutty ones, which is what I believe is the most selling one too!

One of the other items I really would recommend you try is the Kulfi cubes, which come in a lot of amazing flavours! Now for someone who really would not be able to finish such a huge falooda serving could try this instead!

I really do hope you go check out this amazing place! My overall rating I'd give Kulficious is a decent 4.7 out of 5. Their customer service is amazing, the staff is really friendly and the atmosphere and ambience of the place really sets the mood. It's one of those places where you'd actually come to take a take away but decide against it and stay to eat instead!

Until next time!

Monochrome Stripes!

I know it's been a long time since I've posted anything but I've been so busy with so many other things, it's insane! So I finally decided I needed to take time out just to do this and here you go!

Sometime back I had gone shopping in search of something that would combine my need to be comfortable as well as classy together and then I came accross this midi dress in Forever 21! I always wanted a midi dress, just for the heck of it lol! For this look I decided to do casual but this dress could go well with a formal blazer and some fancy heels (maybe a white blazer?)

I usually hate carrying a bag around and when I do carry a bag I make sure it's so light that I don't even feel like I'm carrying one, so for this look I decided against a bag and just accessorised with a hat instead (yes, people did give me stares but who cares!)

My September Favorites!

September is long gone and October has made its way into our lives. For all of you who don’t know, I love September! It’s my favorite month in the whole year. Now that October is here, I kinda realize we’ve come a long way from when 2015 actually began. January is still etched in my memories, so fresh! I don’t even know how these months go by so fast…
So recently I’ve loved some products so much that I thought why not share them with you lovelies! I definitely strongly recommend theses products for you guys.

VLCC Alpine Mint and Tea Tree Face Wash

I’m the kind of girl who tells myself I’m going use face wash to wash my face every day and then I get so lazy some days that I couldn’t care less. This face wash is actually amazing! After you apply it, your face feels really fresh. It kinda gives the same feeling you get when you use minty chewing gum or toothpaste. I know that sounds so weird, but you should really try this one out! It’s best for oily skin and helps with the acne problem.

MAC Mehr Lipstick

I tell you honestly, after I purchased this lipstick, I haven’t gone a day without wearing it. It’s my absolute favorite! On the picture it might look like a weird purple, but it’s actually so amazing. It makes your face look brighter and it can be used on an everyday basis with your everyday make up look. It has a really creamy texture which is what I like about lipsticks. According to a lot of reviews that I went about reading, this lipstick suits Indian skin a lot, but I think everyone should really try this one, even it means just testing it out in the MAC store lol!

MAC Pro Longwear Concealer
Although I’ve been using this product for quite some time now, I decided to anyway include it here, just to share it with you guys! For someone who doesn’t apply a lot of makeup, this product works the best because of its full coverage. If you have marks on your face and you’re thinking to yourself, I don’t want to apply a lot of makeup, just use this one! It’s an amazing product! But make sure you correctly match your skin tone to this product.

Mont Blanc Starwalker

This is a men’s perfume! It’s a known fact that men’s perfume lasts way longer than female perfumes and hence this product! I really love how strong this perfume is. Guys, if you’re reading this, do try! I don’t know what else to say about a perfume though, so I’m actually going to leave it to you guys to go and just test this product lol! I don’t use this much, but when I do, I’m loving it! (McD’s reference to be ignored….)

Escada Magnetism

One of my favorite perfumes that I’ve been using a lot this month is this one! I usually have one standard perfume which I use all the time and then I found this one at home, so just for the sake of it I tried it on and since it’s one of my mentions here ofcourse I loved it! It’s really long lasting. It can go on for a day and half and you don’t have to apply a lot of it, for it to stay. It’s really strong in smell, which is why I like it so much. Do give this one a try!

Syoss Heat Protect: Professional Performance
This month I used this product a lot! Usually I like curls on my hair and to enhance them I use a curler. This product literally saved my hair from so much damage. It was recommended to me by the beautician in the salon and now I recommended it to you! It really gives great results. But it’s always best to try non heat methods to curl your hair! Since straightening cannot be done without a non heat method, this heat protect would work really well!

Do let me know what you think!

What I wore: Birthday Edition!

Usually birthdays are a huge deal in my family, but well I turn a year older....

So I wanted to show you what I wore for my birthday this year round. I wanted to wear something that looked classy and formal at the same time. I went from one shop to another searching for something that would come close to what I imagined myself in and then I came across this piece! I'm the kind of girl who really loves dresses which flow and this was a tight fit which is the complete opposite to my taste buds, that is why I decided to experiment and try something new.

I decided to wear pretty minimal makeup, so that the dress stands out. This dress is definitely one of my favorites pieces that I own. I did not pair this dress with any sort of jewellery because I felt it looked better without. Also, I preferred shoes of the same color as the bottom half of my dress than the top white because I felt white shoes would look really odd!

Do comment and let me know how you liked it!

My Beauty Favorites!

H & M Pink Macaroon Nail Polish

I’ve always liked light pink! So when I found this gem of a nail polish in H & M I was bound to be more than thrilled! For people who are dark skinned, this color will definitely look gorgeous on your skin, no kidding! Pastel colors are always amazing. I honestly believe it works in every season, be it winter or summer. This, I would suggest is definitely a must have!

DKNY Green Apple

If you live in a place like Dubai, you usually end up carrying a perfume everywhere you go. I had received this as a gift for one of my birthdays and after that I went through three more of these lovelies! It’s this cute apple shaped bottle which is seriously pocket friendly! It smells really fruity, I’d say but not so much of apple. Do note, for someone who applies a lot of perfume, there might be chances this would get over way too quickly for you!

Bobbi Brown Lipstick: Brown 4

I love this shade so much! For girls who really like going with a natural make up look, this should be your shade. This lipstick really has an amazing creamy texture. Also, it gives a nude effect, which is
amazing! I definitely recommend!

L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara: Carbon Black

Another one of my favorites is definitely this mascara! There is no flaking, no smudging when you apply. Your lashes tend to look a little bigger, it doesn’t really live up to its name but this product helps add a little drama and intensity to your face. Especially if you’re someone who doesn’t like a lot of makeup, just apply this mascara and you’re good to go!

MAC Foundation: Pro Longwear

This used to be one of my favorite foundations but then I got one from Bobbi Brown, which I shall talk about in another blog. I usually apply foundation only for a very heavy makeup look and this works amazing! It has full coverage and does a really good job with being long lasting. Definitely lives up to its name ‘pro longwear’.

Do let me know which one is your favorite!

A touch of Brown!

So it's been a while since I last uploaded but I'm so sorry! I got so caught up with other things that I just couldn't make time even if I tried. This time round I decided to do casual! One of my favorite colors to pair my clothes with has always been brown. I usually carry around a brown bag wherever I go, so I thought why not do a brown blog! (That probably sounds weird...)

I paired my high waist pants with this black no sleeve top which I love and ofcourse there's the brown bag, pumps as well as belt. I hope you guys liked this one!

Also! I recently opened an Instagram accounts as well, to sort of support this blog I guess? So be sure to follow me on Instagram! My username is arohib (How simple is that lol)
