What I wore: Birthday Edition!

Usually birthdays are a huge deal in my family, but well I turn a year older....

So I wanted to show you what I wore for my birthday this year round. I wanted to wear something that looked classy and formal at the same time. I went from one shop to another searching for something that would come close to what I imagined myself in and then I came across this piece! I'm the kind of girl who really loves dresses which flow and this was a tight fit which is the complete opposite to my taste buds, that is why I decided to experiment and try something new.

I decided to wear pretty minimal makeup, so that the dress stands out. This dress is definitely one of my favorites pieces that I own. I did not pair this dress with any sort of jewellery because I felt it looked better without. Also, I preferred shoes of the same color as the bottom half of my dress than the top white because I felt white shoes would look really odd!

Do comment and let me know how you liked it!

My Beauty Favorites!

H & M Pink Macaroon Nail Polish

I’ve always liked light pink! So when I found this gem of a nail polish in H & M I was bound to be more than thrilled! For people who are dark skinned, this color will definitely look gorgeous on your skin, no kidding! Pastel colors are always amazing. I honestly believe it works in every season, be it winter or summer. This, I would suggest is definitely a must have!

DKNY Green Apple

If you live in a place like Dubai, you usually end up carrying a perfume everywhere you go. I had received this as a gift for one of my birthdays and after that I went through three more of these lovelies! It’s this cute apple shaped bottle which is seriously pocket friendly! It smells really fruity, I’d say but not so much of apple. Do note, for someone who applies a lot of perfume, there might be chances this would get over way too quickly for you!

Bobbi Brown Lipstick: Brown 4

I love this shade so much! For girls who really like going with a natural make up look, this should be your shade. This lipstick really has an amazing creamy texture. Also, it gives a nude effect, which is
amazing! I definitely recommend!

L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara: Carbon Black

Another one of my favorites is definitely this mascara! There is no flaking, no smudging when you apply. Your lashes tend to look a little bigger, it doesn’t really live up to its name but this product helps add a little drama and intensity to your face. Especially if you’re someone who doesn’t like a lot of makeup, just apply this mascara and you’re good to go!

MAC Foundation: Pro Longwear

This used to be one of my favorite foundations but then I got one from Bobbi Brown, which I shall talk about in another blog. I usually apply foundation only for a very heavy makeup look and this works amazing! It has full coverage and does a really good job with being long lasting. Definitely lives up to its name ‘pro longwear’.

Do let me know which one is your favorite!

A touch of Brown!

So it's been a while since I last uploaded but I'm so sorry! I got so caught up with other things that I just couldn't make time even if I tried. This time round I decided to do casual! One of my favorite colors to pair my clothes with has always been brown. I usually carry around a brown bag wherever I go, so I thought why not do a brown blog! (That probably sounds weird...)

I paired my high waist pants with this black no sleeve top which I love and ofcourse there's the brown bag, pumps as well as belt. I hope you guys liked this one!

Also! I recently opened an Instagram accounts as well, to sort of support this blog I guess? So be sure to follow me on Instagram! My username is arohib (How simple is that lol)

Best Drugstore Makeup!

Hello people!

A lot of people want to buy makeup and want it to be the best product they buy. But in addition to that, they also want it to be worth the money they pay for it. So I decided, to share with you, some of the products that I personally liked and paid not so much for.

Max Factor- Wild Mega Volume Mascara

I have been using this mascara for at least three years now and it has never failed to live up to the name. It really gives good results and you can find them in any drugstore. I usually make sure I apply two coats of the same, in order to get maximum results, but it works really well. It tends to make your lashes look longer and gives more volume to them. Also it is waterproof, so I find it really hard to remove it off sometimes.

Maybelline New York- Lasting Drama Gel Liner

So when I flew to Mumbai this time, I went on a makeup spree and came across this gem literally! I never leave the house without liner drawn on the top of my eye lids and so you know, I have used many. This one doesn’t smudge and it lasts really long! Now the box says 36 hours, which I think is real heights of exaggeration. It does last long and all, but not that long. The little box of gel liner comes with its own brush, which comes in handy all the time.  This also acts a great dupe for the Bobbi Brown gel liner.

Maybelline New York- the Colossal Kajal

Now if you’re the kind of girl who doesn’t apply a lot of makeup, I’m sure one of the only products to be on your face would be Kajal and maybe eye liner for some extra drama. This is my go to Kajal literally! I must admit, this product wears off way too quickly (maybe it’s only for me) but I like the creaminess of it. I usually use this to tightline my lashes as well. It’s really worth the money you pay for it.

Lakme- Absolute Gel addict

Before I started using the lasting drama gel liner, I used to use this. I must tell you, it doesn’t give you the over dramatic effect, but it is an amazing product overall. This also comes with the brush already, which as I already mentioned is very handy. The only problem with this is, the bottle is too small.

Colorbar- Ultimate Eyeliner

For most of you, this brand may sound really new. Colorbar is an Indian based brand and they don’t have a lot of stores here in Dubai. I spoke about so gel liners, so I definitely had to include a liquid liner! This liner is basically like a felt pen, which I really like rather than having to dip a brush in liquid from a pot. This eye liner leaves a bit of a shine, which makes your eyes pop. Apart from that it’s really easy to create cat eyes or any sort of other designs with this liner.

Colorbar- Cheekillusion Blush (Everything’s Rosy)

The only blush I actually use is this one. I usually use blush only when I have a really important event. This color in particular acts like a great dupe for the MAC Out for fun shade. It really shines on your skin and it’s quite pigmented. But it’s light and it’s worth the money you pay for it. Now I don’t remember how much I paid for it, but according to the site, its 650 RS, which is quite good.

Maybelline- the Colossal Go Extreme Volum’!

One of my all time favorite mascara’s has always been this one! I usually apply this one with the max factor wide mega volume mascara to give an extra effect. The only problem I face with this mascara is that it dries out quickly. This one too makes your lashes look longer but not extra long. I honestly feel like this gives your lower lashes more effect than your upper lashes. This one too is a great buy!
