Hello there,
Parents. These 7 letters, one word make so much of a
difference in our lives. So recently, I’ve been hearing things that made me
emotional. Have you ever wondered how it feels to NOT see your mother or father
at least once in a day? Yes, some of us can’t even visualize not seeing their
faces. Manier times we would want to stay away from them, but that thought of
leaving them sets us back, at least for me. But there are so many kids in this
world or let’s say in Dubai who do not even get to see their parent’s face once
a day. Why? Because of the occupation they do.
There are many parents who go abroad for office work and do
not get to spend time with their children due to the work pressure on them and
then there are those children whose parents do not go abroad for office work
but work more than 12 hours a day. What really kills me inside is the fact that
these kids do not get to see their parent/parents at least once a day.
From the point of view of child, we are emotionally attached
to are parents and obviously need them with us. Every one of us would want our
parents to sit down and talk to us at the end of the day about how their day
was, what all happened etc. But then what about the people who do not even get
to see their parents, what do they do?
From the point of view of a parent, the only reason they
work is for the wellbeing of their child. They can’t help it if they have to
work extra or end up going to work on a weekend too. I mean, they are doing
this so that their kids could study further, become something in life. They try
to give us everything we want so that we are pleased. There are parents who
give their kids anything they ask for only because they do not want their kids
to have a youth like theirs. That is why they work.
For a teenager like me who understands the surroundings at a
certain level, who understands the problems of my parents. I would not want my
parent to work more than 12 hours just for me. I would want my parent to enjoy
their life too. It really hurts to see your mother/father leave home earlier
than 5:00am and then arrive home much later than 10:00pm. I know of people who
sacrifice sleep or get up before time just to see their parent’s face and the
worst part is THEY CANT HELP IT. I even know people who have cried, had loads
of disturbing breakdowns just because they do not get to see their parent.
Imagine life that way.
